Question:During prayer, while reciting the tashahhud, the worshiper doubts whether the two prostrations were performed correctly—for instance, doubting whether one or both prostrations were performed, forgetting what was done in the previous prostrations. What is the ruling?
Answer:In the name of Allah, one should not pay attention to this doubt. Allah knows best.
Question:If the ruling for doubting whether I completed one or two prostrations is to perform another, when should this additional prostration be done—after the doubt or after the prayer?
Answer:In the name of Allah, you should perform the second prostration during the prayer, as long as you have not entered the bowing (rukūʿ) of the next rakʿah. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the ruling on doubting whether I am performing the first or second prostration (sujūd) during obligatory prayer?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if you are not certain of the second prostration, then consider it as the first. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the ruling on prostrating on tiles of all kinds and on banknotes (dinars) if they are pure?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the tile is artificial and not made from natural stone, it is not permissible to prostrate on it. However, if it is natural stone, it is permissible. As for banknotes, it is permissible to prostrate on them as long as the prostration is not on an image of a living being. It is also permissible to turn the banknote over to prostrate on the other side. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it obligatory to prostrate when listening to the recitation of a verse of prostration from a recording or similar devices?
Answer:In the name of Allah, prostration is obligatory only when listening attentively. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible to prostrate on black tea leaves or a Shah Maqsood Bay Zahr rosary?
Answer:In the name of Allah, as for the tea leaves, it is not permissible. Regarding the mentioned rosary, it is permissible, provided that the beads are gathered together like a single stone, which is impossible with an ordinary rosary. Allah knows best.
Question:A person has been praying for years on surfaces that are not permissible for prostration. Does he need to make up (qada) those prayers?
Answer:In the name of Allah, yes, he must make up (qada) those prayers. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible to move the turba in a certain position, for example, by rotating it at an angle after rising from the second prostration, so that when I look at it, I know which rak'ah I am in? This is to avoid forgetting the rak'ahs.
Answer:In the name of Allah, there is no harm in that. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible for those, who have excuses to complete their prayer sitting, to use the regular chair and prostrate by gesture?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not permissible. They must put something in front of them that they can prostrate on, such as a table and the like. They are to try to make all the parts of prostration as required, if possible, or some of them, such as the thumbs and hands. They are to try to make it in the manner of prostration of a healthy person. Allah knows best.
Question:In prostration, which part of the foot and how many parts of that foot should touch the ground?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the tip of the big toe must touch if it is the longest. If the index toe is the longest, it must touch the ground if the big toe is very short.
