Question:I am planning to travel by air, and the flight time is at 1:30 PM, and I will arrive at 6:45 PM (the flight duration is around 3 hours and 30 minutes). What is the advice regarding fasting during Ramadan on that specific day?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if your departure from your city is after the sun has passed its zenith (Zawal or noon prayer), then you should fast. Allah knows best.
Question:If I stayed in an area for ten days. During these ten days, something happened and I wanted to leave the area and cross the religious distance, would my stay be interrupted?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if you left your place of residence and crossed the religious distance, then your stay has ceased. Allah knows best.
Question:A woman does not face any health problems while performing the fast during the month of Ramadan and she completes the fast smoothly. However, in a month other than Ramadan, whenever she tries to make up the fast that she missed due to menstruation, her health always deteriorates and she is not able to make up those days. What is the ruling here?
Answer:In the name of Allah, sharia rulings must be adhered to, and fasting is not valid during menstruation and cannot be prescribed. If she finishes fasting the month of Ramadan, she must make up the missed days even if she forces herself to do so, Furthermore, she must remember her standing before Allah, Glory be to Him, on the Day of Judgment, so that her fasting hardship is made easier for her.
Question:I am a teacher and I live 60 km away from my wife and two children because of my work. I used to visit them every week and come back the next day. Now, is my fast valid if I follow the same program? How do I manage my business and my family without affecting my fast?
Answer:In the name of Allah, you must abide by fasting, and pray in full at your place of work, as well as when you are with your family. However, if the noon comes while you are on the way, then you will make up the fast of that day after the honorable month ends, and you have to shorten the prayers if you are on the way. Allah knows best.
Question:If one travels before the noon in the month of Ramadan, and he knows that he will return to his country before the noon, is it permissible for him to break the fast during his travels, or must he abstain and fast after renewing the intention upon his return before the noon?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is permissible for him to break the fast after he has gone beyond the permitted limit, but if one does not break the fast and returns to his homeland before the noon, then he must abstain and make the intention and complete the fast as soon as he enters the boundaries of the town. Allah knows best.
Question:If a person travels before the noon prayer in the month of Ramadan, and he knows that he will return to his country before the noon prayer, is it permissible for him to break the fast during his travels, or must he abstain and fast after renewing the intention upon his return before the noon prayer?
Answer:In the name of Allah, It is permissible for him to break the fast after he has gone after the noon prayer, but if he does not break the fast and returns to his homeland before the noon prayer, then he must abstain and make the intention and complete the fast as soon as he enters the boundaries of the town. Allah knows best.
Question:A person enters the state of Janabat in a dream during the day while he was travelling. He returns to his hometown before the high noon without breaking his fast by any means. Can he fast that day?
Answer:In the name of Allah, he has to fast.
Question:In the month of Ramadhan, a traveler who gets in the state of Janabat in a dream at night. Then he remains in that state until after the down. After that, he does Ghusl and prays then goes back to his hometown. In case he does not break his fast and reaches before the high noon, can he complete fasting that day?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not permissible to fast that day because he already broke his fast by staying in the state of Janabat until after dawn intentionally. Allah knows best.
Question:Is fasting considered correct when the traveler reaches the permitted distance of his hometown before the high noon, or does he have to enter the town itself. On the other hand, the traveler is travelling from his hometown. Is fasting considered void if he exceeded the permitted distance, but not entering the next town after the high noon? If the traveler is travelling and the high noon occurred before he reaches the permitted distance, what is the ruling of his fast? Is it the same in the ruling for the place of residence?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the person who has intended to travel is not allowed to break his fast during the day unless he exceeds the permitted distance before the high noon. It is permissible to break the fast and eat before he reaches his hometown or the place of residence (in which he intends to stay for 10 days) before the high noon. He has to complete his fasting in case he reaches the aforementioned places, provided that he has not broken his fast. Allah knows best.
Question:If a fasting person has to travel and exceed the permitted distance to work most of the week- travelling is an introduction for his work-, does he fats and pray full from the first day of Ramadhan, or is there a period to elapse after he becomes able to fast and pray full?
Answer:In the name of Allah, in case he has a stable place of work which is away from his home town; then, he can pray full and fast from the first day of Ramadhan. Nevertheless, he prays Qasr (reduced prayers) in the way between the work place and his hometown and he should be cautious that the high noon (Al-Zawal) does not occur while he is on the way. In this case, he has to fast this day as Qadha after Ramadhan. On the other hand, if he does not have a stable work place and he travels for different places to earn his living, he can pray full and fast from the first day of Ramadhan. Allah knows best.
