As part of religious visits organized by educational institutions across Iraq, Sheikh Ali Al-Najafy welcomed a delegation of professors and students from Baghdad at the central office of Grand Ayatollah Bashir Al-Najafy. The visit included lectures focusing on religious and intellectual issues, particularly addressing youth as essential pillars of societal development.

Youth and Understanding Religion

Sayyid Muhammad Tahir Al-Jazaeri, a representative of the office, delivered a lecture emphasizing the importance of understanding religion as a foundation for all human endeavors. He urged that all actions should align with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and his family (peace be upon them), who represent the ultimate model of faith and righteous deeds.

He described youth as the nation's hope and future, stressing the need to seek knowledge, both academic and religious, and to reflect deeply on beliefs. He encouraged continuous study and consultation with experts to achieve a comprehensive understanding of faith and to counter attempts to distort Islamic values.

Influence in the Modern Era

Sheikh Ali Al-Najafy, the central office director, addressed the delegation, discussing the concept of influence in contemporary society. He explained that influence has become a tool to shape minds, often exploited by global powers through modern media to impact societies intellectually, religiously, and culturally.

He urged distinguishing between leaders and followers, highlighting the challenges when leaders aim to misguide society. He emphasized the need for positive influence, particularly from parents and teachers, who should serve as role models in reinforcing ethical and religious values.

Ahlul Bayt: A Source of Strength and Guidance

Sheikh Al-Najafy underlined the central role of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the Ahlul Bayt in fostering Islamic identity. He described Ashura as a source of inspiration and strength for the nation, urging adherence to Imam Hussein's legacy of sacrifice and reform.

The visit concluded with a call for youth to embody Imam Hussein's values, adhere to correct beliefs, and resist moral and intellectual deviations.

Najaf: A Global Hub

Sheikh Al-Najafy reflected on the significance of Pope Francis' visit to Najaf and his meeting with the supreme religious authority, considering it a powerful message to the world about Najaf's status as the capital of Shia Islam and a beacon of Islamic civilization.

Preserving Islamic Identity Amid Challenges

During the meeting, Sheikh Al-Najafy emphasized the importance of maintaining Islamic identity rooted in authentic Muhammadan values. He warned of modern media's attempts to distract youth from their faith and morals and urged steadfastness in the path of Ahlul Bayt to safeguard beliefs from deviation.
