The representative of the Grand Religious Authority
Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafy (may Allah prolong his life)) in Maysan Province
continued organizing Islamic lectures and Hussaini mourning gatherings in
commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) during the
days and nights of the holy month of Muharram. During one of the gatherings, Sayyid Muhammad
Al-Bukhati emphasized that Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) clearly outlined
the true features of his blessed revolution when he said: "I did not rise
up out of arrogance or pride, nor for corruption or oppression. Rather, I rose
to seek reform in the nation of my grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (peace
be upon him and his family). I want to enjoin good and forbid evil, and follow
the path of my grandfather and my father, Ali." He explained that the reform advocated by the Imam
(peace be upon him) carried a far-reaching vision for the future of the Ummah,
and that the only way to achieve that future was through sacrifice and
martyrdom, a path the Imam pursued from the moment he arrived at Karbala. Al-Bukhati noted that Imam Hussain’s (peace be upon
him) revolution — with its ultimate sacrifices including family and wealth —
was a remarkable challenge to Umayyad tyranny and despotism. It was a noble
humanitarian movement aiming to eliminate injustice and establish justice and
equality according to the true Islamic path.
At the end of his speech, Sayyid Al-Bukhati offered his condolences to the sacred presence of Imam Al-Mahdi (may our souls be sacrificed for his return), the grand religious authorities, and the Islamic nation, especially the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), on the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and the triumph of blood over the sword. |
