Question:If the son receives an inheritance from his father and the inheritance remains with the son for more than one year, does he have to take out the Khums?
Answer:In the name of Allah, he does not have to pay Khums for the inheritance if the father is committed to the Khums. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible to take out Khums of my partner’s share without his knowledge?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not permissible, unless he is a rebel against the Sharia, here you may ask permission from the religious ruler then it is permissible. Allah knows best.
Question:I was employed and paid a monthly salary. I had a Khums year and now I am retired. Will I stay on the same Khums year or is it different?
Answer:In the name of Allah, you stay on the same date the Khums year and the same account. Allah knows best.
Question:If I have a commodity at the time when the Khums year is due, do I have to value the goods at the price, which I bought, or the price at which I sell them?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the goods are for the profit, you calculate its value at the price of the offer when taking out Khums, and if it is for the use of the family you calculate its value at the price of purchase. Allah knows best.
Question:I am a student studying far from my family, and every month my father gives me money as expenses for me and my father pays Khums yearly. Do I have to pay Khums of the money that my father gives to me?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if what your father gives you as a father-son duty, you do not have to pay Khums. However, if the father gives you the money and the money becomes your own property and you eat from your own and your property, then you have to take out the Khums from that money. Allah knows best.
