Question:There are endowments, vows, and bequests dedicated to feeding and reviving the rituals of the Ahlulbait (PBUT) specifically on the first night of Muharram, as well as in the blessed month of Ramadan and other months. The implementation of these resources requires preparation. Since in some months, the confirmation of the crescent moon cannot be guaranteed before its sighting, which necessitates carrying out these actions on the night in question: •Is it obligatory to carry them out on the first night if they are missed? • If the guardian, trustee, or one who has made a vow wishes to act with caution on the uncertain night to ensure they are in agreement with the correct date, is there a method they should follow?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the action is specifically prescribed in the Sharia for the first night of the month, then the person should seek confirmation of the beginning of the month using the proper methods known to the scholars. As for someone who has the habit of performing certain actions on the first night of the month, and it is not a religious vow, they may act even if they are not certain of the beginning of the month. If you are unable to ascertain the beginning of the month, you should act with caution, such as fasting. If a person is unsure about the beginning of the month, they can fast twice if there is no religious objection. Allah is the Guide, and He is the All-Knowing.
Question:Is it permissible to recite the designated Quranic Khatmah (Reciting the Entire Holy Book of Quran) without adhering to the known sequence of chapters, such as reciting them out of order without following the conventional order of chapters?
Answer:In the name of Allah, there is no objection to that, but it is not permissible to mix one verse with another by reciting half of one verse and half of another. Rather, it should be recited as required by its prescribed recitation. Allah knows best.
