Question:What is the ruling of Juma [Friday] Prayer? What is the ruing of the one who does not offer it?
Answer:In the name of Allah, according to my fatwas, Juma prayer is not obligatory. It is only obligatory in the following cases: 1. The Awaited Imam (may Allah hasten his reappearance) holds it, or he (may Allah hasten his reappearance) orders one a person to hold it. 2. The area is under an Islamic Religious Rule where the ruler controls all the premises of the government. This ruler can hold it, or orders a person to hold it within the ruler's jurisdictions. Otherwise, wishing to offer Juma prayer, you may offer it with the intention of nearing Allah. The noon prayer, on the other hand, shall be offered with the intention of an obligatory prayer. Allah knows best.
