Question:What is the difference between concentration and attentiveness in prayer?
Answer:In the name of Allah, concentration means contemplating what one does and says during the prayer, including the obligatory and recommended acts. Attentiveness refers to not being heedless of what is required of him in prayer, whether obligatory or recommended, and not being distracted by his surroundings or anything else in the world. Allah knows best, and He is the Grantor of success.
Question:If a person studies religious rulings, for example, the rulings of prayer, with the intention of showing off their knowledge, is this knowledge correct and is their prayer correct?
Answer:In the name of Allah, their prayer and knowledge are correct. If the boasting is done with someone who does not recognize the truth of Islam and the truth of the doctrine, then it is permissible. However, if the boasting is done to prove one's greatness to a Muslim, then it is not permissible. Allah knows best.
Question:If a person intended to perform a specific prayer, like noon prayer for example, but due to distraction or doubt, they started another prayer within it, such as afternoon prayer (Asr), then they recited the Takbir al-Ihram (opening Allahu Akbar) while in this state, and then they turned back, is it sufficient to maintain their initial intention and what they had in mind to be noon prayer? Or is their prayer invalid, and should they repeat the Takbir and correct their intention for noon prayer again?
Answer:In the name of Allah, in the situation described, the person should change their intention to perform the noon prayer and, after completing it, they should resume with the afternoon (Asr) prayer. Allah knows best.
