Question:What is the ruling on using a spray inhaler while fasting? Does it break the fast?
Answer:In the name of Allah, based on the review of experts in this matter, there are two types of inhalers used by asthma patients: 1.One contains a medicinal powder that turns into gas when air is pressed onto it. It appears not to break the fast if the fasting person does not taste the powder in their mouth; otherwise, the fast is invalidated. 2.The second contains a medicinal liquid that turns into a mist when air is pressed onto it. This type definitely breaks the fast. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the ruling on using a toothpick or cleaning the teeth while fasting?
Answer:In the name of Allah, there is no objection to this, provided that nothing enters the throat that is not naturally part of the mouth’s moisture. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the ruling if someone has intercourse while fasting by forgetfulness and then remembers in the meantime?
Answer:In the name of Allah, he must immediately stop himself and refrain from this sinful act during the fast. Allah is the Guide and Knower.
Question:Is it obligatory for someone whose fast has been invalidated to continue abstaining (from eating and drinking)?
Answer:In the name of Allah, yes, it is obligatory. Allah is the Guide and Knower.
Question:Is it considered lying to Allah or the Messenger if someone who cannot read well recites the Qur’an incorrectly?
Answer:In the name of Allah, yes, it is considered so if the person is aware of their mistake, and this applies if the Qur’an is recited during fasting. If done at night, it is considered a prohibited act but does not invalidate the fast. Allah knows best.
Question:Is smoking considered among the invalidators of fasting?
Answer:In the name of Allah, in my view, smoking does break the fast, though not due to it being classified as thick dust. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the ruling on fasting if one eats before the fast and: 1.Knows that something remains between the teeth. 2.Suspects that something might remain between the teeth—even after cleaning— with the possibility of swallowing it unintentionally?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if a person deliberately swallows anything during the day, their fast is invalid, and they must make it up and offer expiation. It is not permissible to leave anything between the teeth if one knows or suspects that it might enter the throat during fasting. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible for a fasting person to rinse his mouth?
Answer:In the name of Allah, rinse the mouth for the purpose of performing ablution (wudhu) is not only permissible but recommended. However, if it's used for reasons other than ablution, it is disliked. In any case, one should be cautious and avoid swallowing any of the mouthwash. Allah knows best.
