His Eminence Grand Ayatollah the Religious Authority Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafy  (may Allah prolong his life) welcomed the new Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Glenn Miles, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of developing ties and friendship between the two countries, Iraq and Australia.

In the same context, the representative of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah the Religious Authority Sheikh Bashir Al-Najafy  (may Allah prolong his life) and director of his central office, His Eminence Sheikh Ali Al-Najafy welcomed the Australian ambassador in his office.

Emphasis was placed on the necessity of advancing the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries on multiple levels, which would deepen the growth levels for the Republic of Iraq and Australia.

For his part, Mr. Miles provided an explanation of his most important diplomatic tasks in Iraq, expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and welcome.
