Question:We (fifty Husaynia prayers) decided to slaughter a sacrifice for all the prayers who will participate its price, and then we distribute the meat on the poor people who live in our area. Was what mentioned above permissible and would that recompense the sacrifice for those who participated in the price of the sacrifice?
Answer:In the name Allah, one lamb sacrifice would recompense a breadwinner and his family. If the sacrifice was a cow, then it would recompense seven different individuals of different families. A female buffalo would recompense seven people and the male buffalo would recompense one only. All what was mentioned above was about the desirable sacrifice with money and animal being available, but without the availability one cow would recompense seventy and above. Allah knows best.
Question:Should the sacrifice be slaughtered outside of Mina?
Answer:The slaughtering should be in Mina and if it wasn’t doable, then in the valley of Mihser. If the slaughtering could not have been accomplished in the two places mentioned for authorities prohibition or other reasons, then the slaughtering can be done in Mecca which is the most preferable precaution compared to other parts of the country. Allah knows best.
Question:Does the butcher who slaughters the sacrifice (dhabiha) have to be a Shiite?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the butcher must be a Muslim and not a Nasibi (those who have hostility towards Shiite). Also, the butcher slaughters according to the rules well-known with those who follow Ahlulbait in case the former wasn’t a Shiite.
