Question:If the led praying person prays individually in the first line, in which position he stands to invalidate the prayer of the led praying people who are connected to the leader by him? Is it directly after the Imam (leader in congregational prayer) or next to the one behind the Imam?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the led praying person prays next to the Imam individually, he will be a barrier between the prayer leader and the praying people. If this person is right behind the Imam in that his right or left is before the Imam’s right or left, where the ones on his right and/or left are the led praying people, it is regarded as congregational prayer as for the led praying people. Allah knows best.
Question:Should the Leader of Congregational Prayer [Imam of Group Praying Persons] leave to recite one of the Suras [chapters], either by mistake or due to forgetfulness, and reached to Rukoo part, what of the following is to be done by the led praying people: 1 To recite the sura and the Imam prolongs rukoo till the led praying people catch with him? 2 To recite the sura and catch with the Imam till the prostration? 3 Only the led praying people recite the sura? 4 To leave the sura and join the Imam?
Answer:In the name of Allah, as mentioned in the question, the Imam should resume his prayer and the led praying people should also resume with him. The Imam should offer the two prostrations of mistake [Sahoo] for leaving the sura due to mistake or forgetfulness. The led praying people have no right to recite in the way you have mentioned. Allah knows best.
