Question:Is it proved to His Eminence (may Allah prolong his life) that it is recommended to separate the prayers of Noon (Dhuhr), Afternoon (Asr), After-sunset (Maghrib), and Evening (Isha) in that each prayer is performed on its allocated time?
Answer:In the name of Allah, I prefer to combine these pairs of prayer if the separation is just for the delay of prayers of Asr and Isha. It will be better than combining if the praying person separates such prayers by performing the recommended prayers [nawafil] of Asr and Maghrib. Allah knows best.
